quick update

Still no baby yet. The induction is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday 9.13.10, if Larissa doesn't deliver today. But with the incoming addition to our family, we felt that we should have a different blog name. Our new blog is The Anderson Express and can be found at:

Mark pulled out a fun prop he got at the Warrior Dash race last year, and not surprisingly, Dane loved it. Or maybe it was just the attention;)

Visit with Uncle Steve

Mark's bro, Steve, drove over for Sunday lunch and to visit for a bit. He, Mark and Dane had some super fun guy time with lots of wrestling and playing ball together. Dane showed off his constantly improving walking skills, looking very pleased with himself:)

In the Fridge

I left Dane alone to run upstairs for maybe 1 minute the other day, and here's what I came back to...

Yup, he can open the fridge by himself and was apparently unhappy with the current temperature settings:)

First hair cut

I finally gave in and cut Dane's hair for the first time, at 17 months old. His hair was long enough that it was starting to get in his eyes, so I decided it was worth it to give him a slight trim. I couldn't bring myself to cut off the funny little curls at the nape of his neck yet, so it's a bit of a mullet, but not surprisingly, he looks cute even with a mullet:) See the before (which our friends called a baby toupee) and after (on to the baby mullet). I had my moment of feeling a bit verklempt at how fast he's growing up, but was thankful at the same time for how far he's come and how well he's doing. He's our little big man!

Speed Racer

Dane isn't quite walking yet, but with his scooter or shopping cart, he turns into a speed demon, running laps around the house. We're amazed he hasn't been hurt more often:)

Upside-down Boy

Dane recently figured out how to do an upside down tripod and loves that it makes us chase him. Hence, lots of upside down boy:) He also mastered the kiss, which is a new skill for him, on his 16 month birthday, giving me a first kiss as a present:) I loved it!

WALKING!

He's finally on his way! At the end of July, Dane decided it was about time to give this walking thing a try. He's slowly been gaining confidence and is getting braver and braver each day. The best part is how proud he is. When he makes a good long run, he's smiling the whole way. It's so fun to see him growing more independent and enjoying success at a new skill.
